Where to buy Scrimshaw supplies

Looking to try Scrimshaw. Where would I go to get supplies? I know some of the knife websites have kits but is there any where else that sales supplies?

Jantz has a kit or your local drawer,# 2 pencil . for drawing pattern,stick pen in a pencil shape wood handle for scratchin over said pattern ,ink to color ,fine sandpaper for an eraser

Hi Andrew, you can try your first scrimshaw attempts without buying expensive supplies! Just look for a stiff & very sharp (hardened steel or better: carbalt) needle to put into a pinvise or other kind of hand grip, some black India ink or black oilpaint (I use them both) to rub into the work, and some sort of magnifier (Optivisor or surgical eye loups). To practise on you can use cheap white plastic spoons, cleaned bone or horn material, etc. Succes with it! Greetings, Paulie
