The new Custom KnifeKits slogan:
PLUG AND PLAY NO WAY!

Dennis

Yeah Baby!

PS. I didn't know that Jigsaws were capable of cutting stainless, annealed or otherwise...or is it when you say metal-cutting you are refering to some other metal???

To this wandering thread I'll add few my hopes that my GPC's arrive soon!!!
I already have sketches for their customization and am anxious to get started.

In regard to making it too easy, I think that for KnifeKits to continue to grow and prosper, it's essential that new products and enhancements be introduced on a regular basis - to attract both new customers and to keep old customers active and interested.
I doubt that it will ever be easy for someone new to knives to assemble a quality knife from a kit, regardless of the parts provided, but it may help to shorten the learning curve for some, and that's good. More new makers doing better & better work, will generate healthy competition, new ideas and, aside from the occasional misrepresentation problem, benefit all of us.

For pearl inlays, a good starting point for me was to obtain round 1.5 and 2 mm pearl dots from guitar making supply houses, drill carefully centered cavities in the backspacers, glue in place, sand flush and lightly buff. I've used the same process to cover scale screws, useing 3 mm pearl dots, and setting the screws lower - of course, everything has to be perfect and the action settled in firmly before inlaying the pearl dots as they can't be removed with destroying them if further adjustment is needed.

Again, in closing - I hope my GPC's and GX's arrive soon!!!

Thanks Darrell, you are a couple of hours from me, and I would be greatly honored to come over and spend a day learning from you. I just happen to be on vacation all next week. If possible, I could drive over on Wednesday. Thanks for the offer!! Let me know if this would work.
Thanks
Dan
