I have what is basically a cnc laser engraving machine, or rather two of them... I made this tonight. I bought the rights to the image, it was designed by someone else... I wish I had the skills to get this level of detail.....

I've moved, and getting a working shoppe back in order is a pain in the backside.... but I'm making progress.... It's a bit rednecked, a 40ft shipping container... but it's all I have....

From the other direction...

Notice the red racing strip dust collection system... LOL

Nice set-up! Been looking at the variety of ways people have converted these into living-work spaces. Pretty cool use for these containers! No concerns about termites.

I don't make knives, but I did scrimshaw on a few knives for Rod Chappel back in the 70's or thereabouts and was curious if any had showed up. Signed, "Jacobs". You can see some examples of my work, (not on knives) at nitabeads1.com. No, I'm not looking for more work. I haven't done engraving for years but had a discussion today about the tv show on knife-making which brought the subject up.

Some works in progress:

A new kitchen knife for Junko. ATS-34 in one of the few flat grinds I've done, linen Micarta "bolsters", a recycled Epicurean cutting board as the inset piece. "Pinless" handle which I suspect I'll regret as re-handling will make this knife a PITA going forward. (Pinned handles are easy to drive the pin out and pry scales off. That's my quandary choosing to use Micarta and wanting a clean looking handle.)

Letter opener in ATS-34, planned with stag scales, no bolster:

Haven't done a big knife in a spell:

Top one is 13" and the bottom one is 10-5/8". There are two more on the lower one done up. Debating doing a double grind.

I have also inserted image of knives but why they are not showing up here?
Anyone can guide who to upload images? I only see one option of inserting image through URL. Is there any other option?
