Koval knives sells the Kalamazoo,I own one and use it for ruffing my handles and pre shapeing guards.I would recommend the Coote, changing belts is a pain on the Kal.Also doesn't seem as smooth as the Coote I got to use.

On a related note, Why can't they seem to make seemless belts?

T-shirts and socks can be made in a looping weave with no seams--Why not belts?

That friggin' "bump bump bump" when I'm on the platten just gives me a rash!

There's a lot of $$$ in it for the guy who perfects seemless grinding belts!!

Talking

I agree,I found that with the plattencover it doesn't bump as bad but also wears out really fast.A seamless belt would be worth at least an extra dollor.

Smile Grizzly Knife Belt Sander/Buffer

I have been using Griz for 3 years with no major problems. This machine runs fast and there is no reasonable way to slow it down. This grinder comes with a motor. If you simply cant afford anything else and dont feel up to making your own then go for it.
