Conversion of 2 x 36 to 2 x 72

Hi All,

I was wondering if I could get some help to convert a 2 x 36 multi tool grinding attachment to 2 x 72, I just couldnt afford the KMG. Any help would be appreciated, I pretty much have an idea how to do it, just thought maybe there was an easier way.
As always thanks in advance. UB

It has been done before. I've seen pictures on Jason Cutter's website I think. I could be wrong. I do know he had the same grinder.

I have the 2 X 48 MultiTool II and loved it while it was my primary grinder. I still use exclusively for establishing the edge and sharpening.

I had thought about doing exactly that a few years ago. I think that it should be simple if you use a rigid mount for the grinder and whatever will hold the platen or contact wheel. Turn the arm of the multi-tool to the upright position, and that becomes your tracking idler. In the end, however, I decided to leave it the way it was, since I used the small contact wheel for so many things.
