Blade Show 2010

How about you let us hear of your plans for Blade 2010! I just got reassigned to table "7J." (Now all is alphabetically correct). I can't report much on Blade plans yet, but right after Solvang, this week, we'll be zeroing in on specific knives.
For Solvang I'll have the following:
8" Scagel-type narrow-tang Fighter, stag, leather spacers, etc.
Loveless-style knives as follows:
Wilderness with long guard and Mammoth
'Chute with dyed Stag
6 1/2" Fighter with natural stag
Featherweight Drop Point with Spalted Hackberry
City Knife with Mammoth
Bill Ankrom and I have also worked up a pearl-handled folding "Chute that will be displayed on his table. Love it!

We'll look fwd to seeing you at either, or both shows! (Kinda turned into a Solvang post, didn't it?

Sounds like a great line up of knives for the Solvang show Steve.

I'm sure you will have some more fine knives by the time Blade rolls around.

After attending the Blade show off and on for twenty years I have finially booked a table and will have a few knives for people to look over.

I am looking forward to seeing the CKCA knife that you had a hand in bringing to life and also looking forward to the CKCA Banquet.

Ramano, are you going to make it to the Blade Show this year?

Take care

Charles

Great to hear that you are coming to the Blade Show, Charles. I knew Romano was going to make the long trip. I want to see that knife CKCA again, also! See you soon, with a few knives, I hope!

Solvang was under the new format this year and all makers brought a maximum number of knives and all were on display from 10 am until 1 pm when a drawing for each knife was made from tickets placed in boxes by the knives from invited buyers/collectors.
This allowed all knives to be seen by all attendees so that everyone was able to see each knife that he wanted to see and put a ticket in the box by the knife if he wanted a chance to purchase it. At 1 pm the maker drew a name out of the box and if the one drawn wanted to buy that knife, he did so, if not, he could pass and another name was drawn, until the knives were sold, or until there was no more interest.

It was very busy show during the whole time it was open and all had an enjoyable time, with good food. Some sold out, some did not, as is usual, but sales were very good, it appeared to me. I brought home a little ultralight hunter with stabilized hackberry wood and silicon bronze guard. It was a great show in a beautiful town and wonderful facility and the weather was perfect. Those sitting a the display tables were a bit crowded, but the aisles were wide and the attendees had adequate space, I believe to see the knives, visit and enjoy the show. The terrace and room both were nice places to eat and talk.
