Full flat grind hunter

Hey guys finished another one. This one is 1080 with Canadian curly maple and ss pins and tube. I made a black .06 kydex sheath with a belt loop for it. Basic shape similar to DH8 on dancom's blog. Sorry didn't get a chance to get good pics. Any tips on improvement are greatly appreciated.

Nice. What did you do to get that effect on the blade?

That's just nail polish and boiling vinegar. Put the nail polish on the section you don't want etched and then just dip it in boiling vinegar for 10-15 mins or so. Gotta watch it though because the vinegar will eventually eat through the nail polish too.

That's a good looking blade! I like the shape and I am always a fan of Canadian Maple.

I'd suggest you make a $5 light box. I made one recently and it dramatically improved my photos. Simple to make and a world of difference.

Cheers,

Dan

Looks great! I like everything about it. The finger grove is placed just right, not too deep and it creates a guard to keep your hand from running up the blade. I'm with them, I love the etching. Well done sir.

Thanks guys I really appreciate it. And I'll definitely have to google how to make that lightbox.

Quite easy to make , bulb choice and the translucent garbage bag color is the key.....

Still prefer natural light photos myself
