Newbie Question??
I recently started making custom handles. And just started my first damascus. i cut my handle material bigger than the blank epoxied it and then sanded it down to metal. i took the dark color off and made it shiny. is there a way to get the damascus color back or did i make a big mistake?

Q-tip and Vinegar and watch how long you leave it on there .

Ferric acid ( etching solution) you can buy from radio shack use same as Sam CFO told you but make sure clean it properly after that other hand it will start rusting

You can also use some mustard with a cue tip.
