Buckeye Hunter 4 of 4
Well here's the last of the four.
Just have to drop by and show them and make certain he wants sheaths or not as they do all have zipper cases. Going to have to get more of those! Blade : Cable with Hamon - 5 1/2" Guard : Bronze Handle : Buckeye Burl Stabilizied with small Mosaic pin. - 4 3/4" Overall : 10 1/4" Quite happy with how this one turned out. It's got it's little spots that didn't go exactly as planned, but still turned out great. Was real happy with how the wood turned out. It was another block I'd bought off Ray Kirk. Once I got it sanded finer you could really see the figuring and color in it. Dug through my little box of metals and looked through my pin stock, and found a little bit of mosaic left over which I ended up using. Blade was again lightly etched so it shows of the hamon more, but the pattern still shows up, just subtley. More so when you get some light playing off it. It's got some neat activity in it as well. Bronze for the guard was from some bronze I got off Bob Ouellette quite a long while back. The bronze really pulls out the lighter bronze shades in the handle as well. |
