Just a letter opener? identification help please
Hello, I'm hoping someone may be able to help me identify what I have called a "letter opener" for more than 40 years. It's been in my family longer. It's 9 3/4" long and has a brass/copper colored "Hamburg" printed on one side of the hilt with a castle with three turrets and symbols on the top of each turret. The other side of the hilt is a knights armor, but just the head. I would guess it's stainless steel because it's not soft like pewter. It does have lots of scratches. You can see three different pictures of it here.
