knifemaker weekend sept 13th

Anyone up for a get-together hear in Katy on the 13th (saturday)? No cannonfire, but I'm sure we can find something else to get in trouble with!

For those who used to be on the email list, I have no idea what happened to all my email lists. Shoot me an email so I have your address again. Or, if someone has one of the old emails with the whole list, forward it to me.

Thanks!

I haven't used that one since four internet providers ago! The krag "at" kragaxe.com will always redirect to the proper one.

I should have a dozen rondel dagger blades ready for heat treat by then. Maybe verticle quenching long blades will the topic...also known as "how to kick stuff when you warp a long dagger blade"

Seems kinda quiet on the forums....Rick must have broken a finger or something.

Well, I'll be doing blade stuff most of the day starting around noon-ish, followed by something grilled. Roadkill isn't as easy to come by in a subdivision, though! I have a nice slide-show of some of the better Africa pics I can put up on the big-screen as well.

All are welcome, just shoot me a PM or email to let me know you're coming. The new address is:

24334 Travis House Ln
Katy, TX 77493

It actually comes up correctly on Mapquest. If coming from the east....make your best way to I-10 heading to Katy. From North Houston, the beltway to 290, then west to Fry and south to I-10, or simply the beltway all the way to I-10. Head out to Grand Parkway/HWY 99 and exit and go North on 99. This will dead end into Franz rd. Turn left onto Franz and go almost a mile. At the traffic light, there is a Texaco on your left and a day-care across to the left. Turn left at this light ( I don't remember the name of the street) into the subdivision. Go to the first stop sign and turn right onto Peperrell Dr. Take this to the first stop sign and turn right onto Repiton. The second street to the right will be Travis House. Turn right onto this and we are the second house on the left. I'll be the only house with a furnace running in the garage.

From the North, we come down FM 359 from Hempstead. There's another road from Waller that takes you straight to Brokkshire, but I don't remember it. I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about Stanley. It dumps you into Brookshire, you hand a left onto HWY 90, then a right at the first stop light and that takes you out to I-10. A few exits east is the HWY 99 exit, then follow the above directions.

I figured there was probably a few roads that were more direct for you. I didn't knoiw Katy-Hockley rd went all the way up.....but I guess if it's called Katy-Hockley, it makes sense that it goes up to Hockley...even to an Aggie.

Broke a finger? Nope, too busy trying to figure out which of your email accounts still work.

I did notice that you sorta updated the web site. Great family pic, by the way.

You do realize that Hurricane Ike is scheduled to arrive Saturday!?

Short of that happening, I've already got a kitchen pass and put gas in the pickup.

Don, TJ is right. Ike, if it does come our way will be right about on Houston come Sat. morning. You still want to go through with it or change it, or is Ike invited to the hammer-in also.

Oh, please, Stan! His forge needs that much air blowing to keep it from flashing back and searing the eyebrows off everybody in the area! You can tell new visitors from old by how fast they move back when Donnie breaks out that lighter. Last hammer-in, Stan looked like an outfielder for the Astros heading for the wall!

I just got back from Baton Rouge late last night. That place is still kind of trashed from their hurricane!

Due to pending hurricane, no hammer-in. Bummer! By noon Sat it will still be pouring down rain most likely and blowing a bit. Of course, the added breeze would keep the back of the garage cool while grinding!

I'm about to head up to Bryan right now to secure all the crap up there...trampolines, boats, sheet metal, etc.

I reset my website and servers last week so the kragaxe email redirects to the proper one. The wicksonwireless is old now.
