Oil on Oil stone.

I just bought a couple of Norton, combination bench oil stones. I have a few knives around the house, as well as a couple of my own making that need sharpening. I have many books that describe ways of sharpening, including the books by Dr. Jim and Wayne Goodard, but I'd like to know what kind of oil to use on the stones. I've also read on one of these threads about sharpening on a dry oil stone, but I was under the impression that is a no-no. Please inform me so I can get these dang things sharp.

Thanks alot,
Michael

Windex. Works well, and no oily mess.
