Woo-Hoo!
I just powered up my new Bader B-III tonight. Talk about a Cadillac. It runs smooth as silk. The variable speed changes speeds nice and clean. I ground a blade on a 10-inch wheel for the first time...I don't think I will use anything else on my fixed blades from now on. Tracking is right on. I put some anchor bolts in the floor and then put a sheet of closed cell padding between the grinder and the concrete floor and it runs nice and quiet. Tomorrow I am going to taper some tangs (can't help it, I have to work on folders and fixed blades simultaneously now). |

I was wondering if the 'folder only' thing would last : |

The folders are going strong and proud. I have four functional designs. I have titanium liners cut for three knives. I have two more blades to cut, then off to heat treat. I did have to adjust my philosophy, though. When I found out I definitely had a table at the Blade Show, I have to get my fixed blades finished to the point that I can send them to my sheath guy, so I have to hit the fixed blades just as hard. the good thing is that I will have a folder ready in 2-3 weeks, or sooner. I work on 2-3 at a time, so I can do all the drilling at once, all the tapping, etc. I am a man ona mission. |
