How d## you get the center of the bamboo not to collapse. I thought it had a softer center ??

It's real hard wood with a thick wall (aprox., 1/4 inch) and small segmented hole thorough the center, as it came. I opened up the hole clean through, ran the curved tang clear back and filled the cavity with epoxy from the tail end. This is how it's reinforced from the ins##e. Even though the bamboo is hard and strong,... making the handle of a steel, epoxy and bamboo composite makes it even better. Of course, it is also pinned though the tang.

I've never thought of using bamboo before. This was eye opening for sure. Love the knife
