It's real hard wood with a thick wall (aprox., 1/4 inch) and small segmented hole thorough the center, as it came. I opened up the hole clean through, ran the curved tang clear back and filled the cavity with epoxy from the tail end. This is how it's reinforced from the ins##e. Even though the bamboo is hard and strong,... making the handle of a steel, epoxy and bamboo composite makes it even better. Of course, it is also pinned though the tang. |
