Pivot Pins
I'm trying to locate a supplier of 3/16" pivot pins that have a 4x40 screw one end and a 1/4" or 5/16" head on the other. Sheffield supply one with a hex. head but the head is a little small for what I want. |

You could also try Rick Hinderer 5423 Kister Rd. Wooster, Ohio 44691 216-263-0962 RHind64@aol.com He's been building all sorts of fasteners for knifemakers. He will build 'em to your requirements and spec's. |

I don't know if Rick has his South Bend lathe up and running yet. It has been down for several months. |

I haven't heard anything about that. I do know that Darrel got his stuff from him, but maybe he doesn't use the south bend for that. |

Hello Neil, Pop Knife supply may have what you want. He makes and sells precision Corby type bolts 3/16 stems and 1/4 heads, 4/32 thread on one end of 1/4 head.( male, female type) James Popplin is the man's name and he makes some special for pivots as well as for handle bolts so let him know which ones you want.He lives in Georgia U.S.A. and unless things have changed is not available untill after 4:00 eastern time. His phone no. is 706-678-5409 .I don't know if he has a U.L.R. Until recently I used these pivots in all of my liner type lock folders. Hope this is what you want. P.S. Unlce Al does have a web site. www.riversidemachine.net, but you might still want to get a printed catalog. Gene has gotten fittings from MSC www.mscdirect.com and he sometimes gets "odd" ones from Unicorp www.unicorpinc.com/main.htm. It's been a while since he got any from Rick - and those were to Gene's specs. |
