Autos?

Hello everyone. Does anyone out there know if there is a book or other source out there that explains how to make an automatic or spring assisted knife. Would like to convert knife kits ddr3 folder when in . or any other folder for that matter. Thanks

If there is, I haven't found it TKD.
Don't waste your money on a book called the Ace of Blades. It tells nothing about building switchblades. Chris Crawford offers a dvd on making scale release autos. You can convert just about any lock back folder into a scale release in you have the proper tools. I lost the link to his web site but if you look around on the various knife forums you'll find it. You can buy some of the parts for autos from KnifeKits.com and they might even offer an auto kit. Here's a link to their site.

Take care!

I would suggest getting Chris Crawford's video which shows how to make an automatic and should help you a lot.

I offer a design for a button release folder on my web site, if you're interested.
