recurve fighter
here is a big fighter that I just finished for a customer.
overall length is 13" with a 7 3/4" blade of cpm 154 The handle is brown maple burl with some black and white ebony, ram horn, and red spacers. sorry for the rough looking pics. I'll try to update with some that are better later. |

Sorry it took so long for me to post a comment, but that is a mighty fine looking fighter. That knife looks like a fighter, stout and strong.
I love the work you did on the false edge, I think its the perfect length. IMHO a lot of makers make the false edge too short. I would like to ask one question. Was the Maple stablized ? Sorry I lied I have another question. What was the material that you used for the red spacer? Great Looking knife. Jeff |

Thanks for the comment, it really is beefy, I used 1/4" bar stock.
yes the wood is stabilized. For the spacer I used some red .015" that I got from Pops knife supply. The center spacer is the inner part of some ram horn. It looks reddish, Because if it being semi translucent, so it looks like it is glowing red. A really cool effect. Thanks. |
