Escutcheon or Shield

I need help on ways to put on a shield or escutcheon on a mammoth handle. are there any threads on how-to ? is there any information anywhere? I have a puser, but not comfortable with it yet. i have heard of ways to do it with a mill.

Hi,
Uncle Al Lawrence has an escutcheon plate jig and such on his web site.
Fisk did a review of it and seemed to like it...Ken

I've seen pictures of the old Sheffield makers using what they call a "shielding parser" to cut into the scales but I have no idea what it looks like at the business end .... anyone have any old Sheffield photographs to hand?

we have talked about the parser before. i think there are some pictures in the archives..i even made one..i just can't get the #### thing to work like i think it should..i would like the see the one Uncle Al sells demostrated..anyway..thanks to all
