Cool My chisel, or one sided false edge bowie

Here are pictures of my finished knife, made for the customer who wanted a chisel or one sided false edge. This is the knife in regards to the post I made back on January 26, here in Ed's forum. Thanks to all those who responded including Gary Mulkey for all your help! Jon Moore

Hi Jon,

That piece looks like it came right out of the shop of an authentic 19th century knifemaker. I like the patina and that one-sided clip.....Very cool. Now, let's see the sheath.

Well done, bro.

Dana

It would look right purdy hangin' from the belt of any six gun action shooter. Well done! -Jim-

Very nice, Jon. Thanks for sharing.

You know that I've got a thing for the traditional styling. You learn a lot when you try to do what they did years ago, the way that they did it then, don't you? I hope that you had fun with it.

My next build is going to be my most ambitious yet. Let's hope that it turns out as I have already invested substantially in fine silver for it. I'm a bladesmith who occasionally works with silver trying to reproduce a knife of a silversmith who occasionally made knives. It should be fun.

Gary

Cool

Dana: The customer is quite an accomplished holster maker, wants to make his own sheath!
Gary: Yes it was fun! But hard to imagine how they did these things so long ago! Thanks both for the kind words!!! Jon
