I didn't even notice this post until this morning. I think I like this one better than the other one. Even though the style of the Japanese blade is simple (not simple to build!) there is just something about them that I love. Maybe it's just what they stand for... This one is a very very nice example. I think we might have to talk later about a possible purchase...
Keep up the good work... Chris Nilluka |

I like this one a lot. It looks like you have a hamon line going on this too. I did not know you could get a hamon to show up at all with stainless. Anyway sweet package!

thanks
sorry, david. no hamon on this knife. it's just the shadows on the different grind angles. i don't know of anyone getting a temper line on stainless either, lol.
chris, i'm glad you liked this on so much because it is the style i make now. the other tanto on here is an older style that someone saw on my table at winston salem and ordered. i finished it for him and it's the only one of that pattern. i didn't keep a pattern of it or the one in this post. i think it's more personal if i make a new blade each time instead of using the same pattern over and over. that way the owner knows he or she has the only one. no laser cutting here! lol. well thanks for the comments and if you need to reach me my email is bgates74@bellsouth.net __________________ it is only when you've lost everything, that you're free to do anything. see my knives at :www.gatescustomknives.net |
