Table for grinder

Hi Robert!
I don't have any pics on the computer, but will take a few tomorrow and post them for you. About the best place around to find parts for the square wheel is Koval Knives. They usually have a better selection than anyone else. Give em a call and see is they have one.
I upscaled mine a bit by overlaying a 1/4" thick piece of aluminum on top. More to come........

Workrest (pics)

Here are the pics of my square wheel platen as promised. The overlay is the 1/4" thick chunk of aluminum I spoke about before. I've cut this piece out so that I can be used with side support on both the 8" wheel and the platen. The wire you see attached is my static control. With it being so dry in this part of the country, grinding that creates dust (micarta, G-10, or even some woods) will cause the blue sparks to jump all over you!
This is a front view of the workrest with the platen in place..

These are all different pic to give you a better look at the design and how it's set up........

Hope this helps!

Work table

No real technical reason. It was the lightest and strongest material I had handy, so it's what I used. My other thought was that aluminum would not scar up any blades that were moved around on it.
