Well Andy I picked up a Sport Kilt.
Here are a couple pics on it for your guys amusement. This is th Navy tartan. The background of the tee says US Navy. The other is my Ren garb. __________________ I cook with a flair for the dramatic, and depraved indifference to calories |

That's awesome Jim!
I have 5 kilts and one is the US Army tartan. In the spirit of reciprocity, I'll post some pics just to keep the thread goin'. __________________ Andy Garrett https://www.facebook.com/GarrettKnives?ref=hl Charter Member - Kansas Custom Knifemaker's Association www.kansasknives.org "Drawing your knife from its sheath and using it in the presence of others should be an event complete with oos, ahhs, and questions." |

AS fate would have it, we had a Ren Festival here in Wichita TODAY! I thought it was a good opportunity to break out my ARMY kilt and challenge your evil NAVY kilt!
Notice the flags in the background! It was WINDY! Very interesting situation when your goin' 'authentic'! BTW, I wore the little wharny you made for me as a sgian dubh (did I spell that right?). __________________ Andy Garrett https://www.facebook.com/GarrettKnives?ref=hl Charter Member - Kansas Custom Knifemaker's Association www.kansasknives.org "Drawing your knife from its sheath and using it in the presence of others should be an event complete with oos, ahhs, and questions." Oh what the heck...
Here's another kilt shot at the '06 rally in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This one's brown duck with hammer loops and tool pockets. It's a 'Workman' from Utilikilt. I just may wear a kilt to Blade! __________________ Andy Garrett https://www.facebook.com/GarrettKnives?ref=hl Charter Member - Kansas Custom Knifemaker's Association www.kansasknives.org "Drawing your knife from its sheath and using it in the presence of others should be an event complete with oos, ahhs, and questions." Cool Andy,
My wife says if I start wearing a kilt away from the fairs I have to get a set of boots, biker or combat. She says that the rules. As for going regimental, not this little grey duck. I have my rubber ducky boxers under that in case of wind or the ever curious ladies who have to check. As for Army vs. Navy I just like to point out that we are three games a head & have won the last 6. Kilt is the way to go.
Though maybe not while forging... at least not with a treadle hammer. |
