Santoku
Here is my Santoku kitchen knife. Damascus from Ray Rogers ( I think?) I got it for a ridiculously low price and now I have a really cool kitchen knife. 7 1/4" blade 12 1/4" overall with stabilized black walnut handles and stainless bolts. Hollow ground on the right side and Murray Carter Scary sharp. Still haven't had a chance to chop anything up though What do you think? Next up will be 52100 for the same if I ever get any more custom orders.

Pretty cool, has a good pattern too.
What grit did you take it up to before etching? |

Can't remember
I honestly don't remember. I do know the blade got good and hard. It was a booger to hand sand . Part the the streaking look is the final wipedown and trying to polish. Because the pattern is so big I just couldn't get it to finish like I wanted. Doesn't matter to me since I am going to be using it hard in the kitchen. Dan

Great looking blade, Im a big fan of the Sontoku design. Just curious, what size wheel did you use to do your hollow grind? God Bless Mike __________________ "I cherish the Hammer of Thor, but I praise the hand of God" |

Bet it's gonna work great in the kitchen.
I wanna make some more kitchen blades. They're fun. I'm enjoying using my jitterbug sander, saves time and I'm liking the results. Previously I was doing it all with files and stones. |
