outrageous price jump

Stopped at my local medal supplier to get some brass tube and rod to make some mosaic pins. Since my last visit here, less than a week ago the prices on the rod and tube has went up.

The price of a 3' section of 1/4" brass tube went up 255%!!!!! ARE YOU kidding me?
Most of the thin wire i use in the pins went from around $1.79 to over $4.50 per 3' section. If anyone has seen price jumps like this please let me know, as im hoping that this was only a glitch in the system.

There's a group of folks in Washington printing up money as fast as they can, even though they have no assets to back it up. You should write them a "Thank You" note and let them know you'll remember them in November.

Metal prices are high - Haven't you seen news articles about people stealing brass plaques and urns from cemeteries? Almost all of it has to be imported. (I hate to think about the number of gov't permits you'd need to open a mine here.) The dollar becoming less valuable hurts the exchange rates.
