Looking for blue denim micarta

I have seen some real nice knife handles made from denim micarta. I am looking for a pair of scales to make a knife. Anyone know of a good source for a couple of scales?
Thanks
Cal

Give Beau a message, he may have some, or may be willing to make you some.

It's very easy to make. I used an old pair of Levis 501 jeans and cut them up in 2" x 8" strips. Half the strips were bleached. I epoxied them together, wrapped in wax paper and placed between to 1/2" steel plates in the vice.

Beau fixed me up with some Bcarta. He doesn't live too far from me.
Thanks for the help.

Try Todd Combs at Shadetree Phenolics. He makes all sorts of scales out of Denim/burlap/carbon fibre/yarn etc, etc. Usually I make my own denim and burlap, but I got lazy this year and ordered some of his...great stuff. He's currently providing scales to Mike Stewart(or he was) at Bark River and Tool. Also he'll provide thick carbon fibre scales(3/8") which are hard to find anywhere. I've some of that also and will be using it shortly. Here's a link to his photobucket album:

One of his e-mails is toddcombs@gmail.com
