Is This Thing On....????

Tap, tap, tap, tap.... Is this thing on?

Nice place you've got here Mike. But it looks like it could use some furnishings. Maybe a gun safe, a fridge, a wide screen, and a lazy boy or two would do.

Welcome Les Yes, this is the place, the power's on, the doors are open, and the party will start soon. You're the first one here, so make yourself useful and open the drapes

Seriously, KnifeNetwork is a one-stop site for knifenuts of all persuassions, and even the Busse/SwampRats Forum brings these two great knife lines together in one place. I'd like to have some fun here, to help make this an informative and educational Forum, and to encourage everyone who loves knives like I do to expand their experience in the cutlery world.
Just a few mouse clicks on Knife Network can take you from Busse to Brend, from tactical to traditional, and make your own comparisons. We'll encourage an open, positive exchange of ideas.
Give us a little time -- hope you enjoy the site, and bring on any ideas and topics you have to make it a really enjoyable place to spend a few minutes a day.

Well Chuck, Les -- for starters it's great to have notables such as the two of you
Hey Les, is it true that you've offered a 40 pound Alaskan salmon to the first Knife Network member to reach 100 posts here? Very generous offer my friend But we'll need to have some rules -- like they have to be individual posts (not bumps) and they must not contain references to Spearhead Wildlands (well, maybe one or two)

Thanks again guys -- spread the word, to paraphrase Orville Wright, we'll get this popstand off the ground, guaranteed

Mike

Shoot Mike... you're being awfully free with my salmon! I'll make a counter-offer. For the first member who reaches 100 posts, I will donate a 40 lb Alakan salmon that MtMike catches while on a fishing trip with me.

No thanks are necessary... I'm a giver.

Mike,

There has been an intel dump for the appropriate POCs for the other Busse and Swamp Rat forums... oh yeah... and I told some people from that "other" forum.

Stick around and maybe we'll let you join Laes and I on his guided fishing trip in the Spring

Les, thank you Sir, and thanks also for the wise advice contained in subject intel dump

Glad to see the Good Guys showing up already. Now we can get down to discussing those Big Bad Busses and Surreal Swamp Rats. (see thread below)

No problem on the "advice' Brother. Just trying to hold up my end.

And who are you calling "Sir"? I think you do that just to ruffle my feathers.

Welcome Dave, pleased to pipe you aboard
everyone's welcome here, and I think a lot of custom makers, 'specially guys like you who favor a stout piece of steel, will really appreciate the options available in the new Busse line. And the latest blades from the Swamp also seem to be the result of a lot of input from the early Rat buyers -- not exactly custom, but as close as a production maker can hope to come.
Also, both Busse and Swamp Rats have taken the giant step, and are encouraging the purchase of custom made sheaths for their knives. Fun times in the knife biz

Mike

Welcome aboard Mike -- for those of you who don't recognize Mike immediately, Mike's "Bark River Knives" may be the perfect field companions to your Busses and Rats.
I have 3 Bark Rivers that I use pretty much daily, including some pretty heavy duty cutting in my leather shop. If you haven't had the chance, check out the Mini Canadian -- 3 inches of really tuff slicing power
Hmmm, just a thought -- a double-pack sheath with a Natural Outlaw and a Mini-Canadian might be a great set-up Normally I don't like doubles because of their bulkiness, but the Mini would be a natural fit.

Mike
