toothy
I finished this one in October but forgot to post it here.
Very closely based on one from 10th-century Ireland. Wrought iron spine, 11 layer 1084 and 15n20 twist, more wrought, W2 edge... the handle is walnut burl, and the overall length is just a hair over 16 1/2". It has an auto-hamon that just barely shows in the pictures. It might be hard for me to top this one... __________________ A good friend told me one time about forging "What is there not to like, you get to break all the rules you were told as a kid, don't play with that it is sharp, don't play with fire, and don't beat on that" Wade Holloway See some of my work. |
