Smile New moderator

Well, we have a new moderator for this forum, and its..........Ta Daaa, Famous Don!!!

I've really missed the interest and companionship we used to have in this forum and I'd like to bring it back to an active life.

Remember when lots of us made a barlow linerlock together?

And the framelock? the Big Ugly?

Let's start another challenge and all build another project together.

Please let me know your thoughts. When we have some input besides mine, we'll have a poll.

This doesn't have to be a knife building project. It could be a tool or fixture used to make folders. ?????

Hi Don,
I'm not in any position to offer suggestions, but I'll follow along/participate.
Take care, Craig

Hello, Craig.

Long time, no see.

Let's see if we can breathe a little life into this forum together.

ye ha, im glad someone is startin something, if no one else stepped up i was gonna kick something off in the new year but good ol don is at it again.
i would be up for a barlow or framelock becausse i missed both of them, i especially liked the barlow because it was interesting to see all the different knives that can come from the same set of plans.
we could go for a slippie or a lockback because theyve never been done before, although i think there is generally more interest in liner locks. besides i've already made a slippie and lock back and this is all about me isnt it, ha ha ha.

im up for almost anything, i would really like to do the barlow again if don doesnt mind sharing his design again and everyone doesnt mind a repeat.

Hi Don.
I've got to figure you are doing well !. Great ! I still stop by and may even get involved with a "project" again. In any case, welcome back to the folder forums ! Frank.

Thanks for the welcome, everybody. But I never left. Just wasn't anything going on.

I see Chris Crawford has posted interesting photos of a button release folder. If Chris agrees we could make that a project.

If we can search the old threads we might be able to revive the old barlow project and start that one over again.

How about sombody searching for the barlow challenge and let's take a look at that again. Assuming the photos and descriptions are still available we could do it again together with some of the people who didn't participate the first time.

Search, somebody please.
