Knife ID Assistance - GARDNER

So a guy on another forum I'm a part of posted the following. If anyone can help with some information about the maker it would be appreciated.

Quote:
As the title says, I am in need of identifying and locating this knife maker. Had a chance to grab this hunter in a recent trade. The previous owner was given the knife, in Norcross, by the maker. I am pretty sure the maker was residing within the area, Forsyth, N. Fulton, or Gwinnett. He cannot remember the makers first name and my google fu has been unsuccessful. This knife looks to be a Damascus hunter style, with a stag handle and the makers mark of GARDNER. The knife was acquired between 10 and 15 years ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Believe that is one of the late Jim Gardner's creations. He was an active member of the Flint River Knife Club. A very accomplished maker/bladesmith and gentleman, we did a few demos together back when he was still able to get around.

I could be wrong, but that does look very much like the kind of work he did.

I was going to say Jim Gardner. I'm sorry to hear Jim has passed. He was the first maker to invite me to his shop and spent a couple of weekends getting me pointed in the right direction.
