Heat Treat Oven venting? exhaust? etc...

Hey guys,
I was curious about those of you who own HT ovens or have built them.

Do they have any type of exhaust/venting system?

I mean, I know that a perfect airtight seal is probably unrealistic anyway, but assuming that one could get close to a perfect seal on the door, with mortar between the bricks, and any holes filled, would they need to install a small exaust pipe/vent?

What's the verdict?

Thanks,
Drew

I have a Paragon, furnace, that is, and don't think there is any exhaust at all/\.

If you have it perfectly sealed, why would you want to put a vent hole into it?

Well, I was looking at a $3000 dollar bench top oven on ebay, and it mentioned it had a chimney on it. I wasnt sure if this was necessary/common or not.

It didn't make much sense to me either.

$3000 better be a nice oven. You don't need any exhaust afik.

If it has a chimney, it's probably a burnout kiln for lost wax casting, not a HT oven.
