Delamination

I have made my first 132 layer Damascus knife blank made out of 1084 & 1520. On one side there looks to be a few cracks but none on the other side or edges. They didn’t show up until after normalization. I like to grind my blades after heat treat. I want to try to grind out the cracks / delaminations. Could heat treating cause more problems trying to grind out the cracks or make them worse? I would have posted a picture but had trouble uploading it. Thanks for any advise!

Read through your post inductively the answer lies there.
If the cracks were there after normalization (pre hardening heat cycle) indicates they were developed during the forging process. Once there they don't go away. Grinding will not make them worse or better. You might get lucky and be able to grind past them, won't find out until you try.
The question one should ask - How they were formed in the first place? Resolve this issue in the next attempt with layered steel. Both the steels you selected are very "forgiving" steels and are good to start learning with, so my guess is those cracks developed early in the forging process and stayed hidden.
