What makes the blade swing? I don't think my blades 'swing' so I'm not sure what you are asking. All my blades are happily married to their handles.

I make oilite bearings for my blades. Most folders are probably made with no bearing at all, just a hole in the blade for the pivot and that works just fine.

The detent ball is a single ball bearing that is pressed into the end of the lock bar on a liner lock. When the blade is closed, the ball falls into a small dent, which is called the detent, in the side of the blade. It's purpose is to hold the blade in the closed position....

The real trick is to get the blade pivot hole very smooth, a reamer is helpful here.
