Is stag liked these days?

Was going through a box of handle materials and I had some stag in there. Before I cut it up I want to have some idea if it is a desirable material on a knife these days.

I flattened some and I didn't miss grinding that stuff. LOL I see that it can be fairly pricey to buy the rounds now.

Would you use the stag or go stabilized wood?
