Solder, Weld or Glue a Damascus guard?

I checked the "How Too's and found nothing on soldering damascus guard's.
I have ground a random pattern damascus bowie and the only look that I like for the guard is the same damascus. But! The damascus is too thin, how do I laminate the damascus? Silver solder will leave a silver line on the darker steel, won't it? I am not too confident about using JB Weld for a laminate to be acid etch.
Thanks
Howard

Howard in my experience you're going to wind up with a visible seam no matter what you do (outside of forging two pieces together to make one) so - and this is one of those old timer's tricks - if you have seam like this than make it part of the design - add a spacer between the two pieces of damascus or you may just get away with soldering the two together and then filing a groove around the circumference where the seam is. Hope this makes sense if not I'll try to explain better.

Hopefully these will give you an idea of what I 'm trying to say:

On the other hand how thick is the Damascus - even a 3/16" or so thick guard can look good when done right
