My First (Again) Knife.
This is the knife that heralded my return to playing with steel. Unfortunately, we lost all our pictures back in the '04 Florida Hurricanes, so my previous forging work is gone, but this is my return, bigger and better, I hope.
It's a KK Delta 5 boneyard special, bolsters and fittings were all wonky, which explains why it was in the Boneyard. I had to do a lot of extra drilling and shaping to make parts fit. Keep in mind, my only tools were a cheap weak, 4" Belt grinder, a Dremel tool, and some hammers and files. Pictures are pretty crappy, and I haven't been able to get it off the friend I made it for to take better ones. He's pretty attached to it, takes it everywhere he goes. Grips are Birds Eye Maple slabs. |
