Synthetic steel wool
I've been getting some real nice finishes with "FINISHFAST" by Glit. It's a pad, like Scotch brite, that comes in about 6 different grits. It works great on just about everything, including steel. Anyone else tried it?

This stuff works much better than Scotch Brite. It gives a more "even" finish and a better selection of grits. I mostly use the "0000" and "000".
Here's the website: http://www.glit-microtron.com/ It looks like they changed the name from FINISHFAST to KLEENFAST. I'm going to try some of their other products. I've been getting the pads at Home Depot. It's a bargain! Last edited by Misternatural?; 10-24-2002 at 01:29 PM. |

I found it in the paint department. Those places are so big, I wear myself out looking for stuff.

prior to your post, i've been searching high and low for this product. called original canadian mfr,(gemtex industries) they discontinued it, said they sold the glit division to continental commercial products in the midwest, called them, they were checking for me. missed their call back today, hope to speak with tomorrow (fri). i learned about it from people who use the fine grit to polish their expensive gold watches.
hope you can help me find it. garpesce |
