Heat treat oven ?????

OK guys and gals , I need a new oven. Prefer an Evenheat 18 to 22.5" deep. If anyone has one for sale just drop me a PM or E-mail. My old oven is just too small for what I want to do.
Thanks

Andy you sure 22 is big enough. I see more swords in your future. I made mine, will be glad to help you if you want to make your own.

Think I'm going to go that way. We built J.D's and Eddie's. I found a good deal on the ceramic fiber board 2" thick. Been pricing materials and looks like I can build a 10 "x 10" x 32" with controller for under $400.00. There will never be another sword in my future.........LOL

Gentleman,
I would ask that you post your processes as you build this. I've seen a couple of websites online about building, but many are difficult to follow. I'm interested in building one, but haven't made the plunge yet.
Any pics would be appreciated.
thanks
Mark

Andy -- sure you want it make it 12"X12" how big a knife you going to be making ?? 36" is ok but 12"X12" pretty big . It cost me $25 every time I turn my oven on .

Andy,

My paragon KM-24D is pretty awesome. I know they make them longer too.

Or..., maybe you want more width for production work?

Mark Will do. I plan on doing a step by step. Andrew, I looked at the Evenheat and the Paragon. I'm building mine 12 "wide 8" high and 30' deep inside deminsions. with controller ,elements and relay's and such I'm less than $400 in it. Mine will be the 3rd one we've built. So far the ones we've built have worked great.

IT was pretty exciting to see your supplies at the last meeting. I am anxious to hear how this build goes. I would love for you to talk about your build after you finish it for the guys at the guild. I have no doubt you will learn a ton building this awesome oven.

Ok guys after fighting the flu. I am back at the oven. It will be 8"X 8" X 24". Oven is framed out and slotted for heating element. As soon as the element comes we will continue the build. Not as big as I wanted but, The reality is that I probably will not do much over 24" and the 8" x 24 will accommodate a decent sized hawk. NO MORE SWORDS. ( Ok I would make another for a 72 Corvette convertible, )
Chris I would be glad to. Just let me know when. I'll bring all my info on where to get it and do a quick seminar type class. You do not want to cut this stuff in the school . The dust is like baby-powder and goes everywhere.

Where are the pictures??? I am a very visual person.
24 inches is really just right for about anything except the occasional sword ......
Sound like you are coming right along maybe you could do a power-point type presentation at the April meeting?

Steve

OK , I forgot to take my camera but I'll get some photos tomorrow. We got the heat coils in one and have it glued up today. Will be working on #2 tomorrow. I'll get some pics posted.
