I can't say for certain this is my favorite. I'm like Dexter from that old cartoon. Every time he makes something it is his latest and greatest. This however was one of the most challenging in forging, fit and finish and the cost of the handle slabs.

Here is onr I just finished up. Its one of my favorites. I still feel I could have done better in several places on this one (don't ask.... if you cant see im not telling )
Also got a single bolster version of this with desert ironwood finishing up soon. im a bit tempted to engrave that one.

blade: Matt Walker Damascus 3 3/4" with a touch of file work
bolsters: 416 stainless
handle: mammoth ivory with stainless pins
OAL: 8"

wish I had more time to enjoy it, but its being delivered tomorrow

Impossible to pick a favorite from my entire body of work--I like different knives for many different reasons. Sometimes I am particularly fond of a piece because of how much I enjoyed making it--great weather, low stress, awesome song on the radio, etc.

Yet, this one is a recent standout:

A shot of the same knife in full profile with some siblings:

Would be hard for me to chose the ONE that I am happiest with, but this is one of four I just completed. I also entered this pic in a photo contest on another forum. Not to good at the pics yet, but I took a little more time with this one..... used a white board to reflect light, and eliminate reflections on the blade.

Just ONE?

I can't, I just can't.

But here's two of my favorites...the skinner, because it was my first try at fancy file work, and the Ultimate Zombie Killer, a kit knife, just because I had so much fun designing the logo and working on it.

But trying to name a favorite is like asking me to pick my favorite child.

This was a special Christmas gift made by Jake and myself. Jake presented it to his brother on Christmas Day.

J.D. Smith made the awesome pattern welded steel we used to make the blade. Blade length is 11" and overall length is 16-1/2"

The handle is my first attempt at mortised tang construction. Material is Black Oak. Fittings are red brass.

The sheath is made of English Bridal Leather (expensive but I wouldn't say it's any better than regular veg tan leather). Huge thanks to Travis Daniel for the knowledge he passed on thru the Leather Knife Sheath class he taught recently at MCC.

Most impressive Barry.

I'm hoping this thread is open to non-guild members...
This one was a milestone for me.

The edge is W2, with wrought iron, 1084 and 15n20 bits, based off of a blade in the Irish museum, the handle is walnut burl.
