This is about the bottom knife .

This is making the Pattern I mark the knife out on a piece of Micarta .

And the marks on the micarta . And the locater holes drilled in the pattern.

Next I pin the bolster to the pattern and scribe the bolster.

And this shows how I scribe the the bolster on to the pattern.

This picture shows I have cut out the pattern and the gap that will be filled with body putty .
There is about a 1/8"gap between the bolster and the pattern .

Here shows the pattern ready for the putty and I use Pam on the bolster so the putty will NOT stick to the bolster. And alum foil between the pattern and the knife blank so to keep the body putty off the knife.

And the pattern pulled off the knife and away from the bolster.

And the sides of the pattern sanded smooth and ready to pin onto the handle mat'l to route the curve on the handle mat'l . I also have the front of the bolster simi-finished to the curve of the guard.

And this is as far as I'v got . And it may be a week before I can get back to it .
Thanks for looking .

sweet knife Art. I like your curved bolsters a lot. I will say you are braver than me doing that much work before heat treating. I look forward to seeing it.
