Stabilized/Dyed Wood Suppliers
Hi, I'm having some trouble finding suppliers in stabilized/dyed woods for my handles. Does anyone know of where it can be found? -Aaron

The two main ones are KMG http://www.knifeandgun.com/ and WSSI http://www.stabilizedwood.com/wssi.shtml. Both are good and have a great rep. Mostly it's which one you prefer in most cases. There are some differences on the chemicals so there's a difference in what material they can work with.

I use K&G also, but I buy/find my wood locally and send it to them for stabilization. I like to see my stuff in person before I buy it. They do a great job very reasonably.

K&G sells stabilized/dyed wood and will also dye your wood as well as stabilizing it ...

It can be a matter of personal preference. I started with WSSI and normally call Mike first but I have gotten wood from both. Both will stabilize and dye wood but the three pound min on WSSI can turn people off and if you want dye or double dye the price goes up big time. Mike also has a tendency to be a a bit snobbish about wood. Granted I like this tendency of his because he has some of the fanciest woods you will ever see.

I like this Guy...He only handles stabilized wood!! Only 1 $3.80 shipping charge regardless how many scales you order. Have him to send you an invoice. Don't check out before he sends you an Invoice. And No, i am not affiliated with this company whatsoever.
