Everyone else got new toys,I got clothes
Of coarse I needed clothes, but this was the first Christmas I didn't get ANY tools.
Not even a pair of fingernail clippers. Then I come home(here) and see all this cool stuff.... While I am very happy for everyone who got new grinders and such,I feel left out. I guess I was a bad boy last year. I didn't even get a bag of coal(which I would have burned up anyway) It's sad for the tool man,I guess I'll have to buy myself some tweezers or something new. Maybe I shouldn't have given that Ex-lax to the raindeer last year, ya think? Last edited by Geno; 12-29-2002 at 11:20 AM. |

All I got was clothes also.
I did get a dart board for the shop. Just in case I need to take a break. I bought my grinder as an investment in my knifemaking future. I also bought a new pair of dial calipers and am waiting on them to show up. Don't feel left out, go buy some tools like I did. |

Gene's Christmas presents...
Congratulations Tom!
As for the rest of you boys... If you saw Gene in public wearing the clothes he has (until the trash man comes) you would thank me for getting him new clothes. He was on the verge of getting arrested for indecent exposure. And he did get a tool - tire guage in his stocking - not coal. (Although he would have liked the coal too.) And don't tell him to go buy tools. He has to buy me a dryer first. __________________ Pat Osborn |

I got an emergency car tool kit. That didn't quite do it for me so I went and bought a little hobby MIG weldor. I've done a couple oxy/act welds but never arc. Should be interesting.

Geno, I see that toungue in cheek. We all know you are a count your blessings kind of guy. Besides as if you needed anything else in that awesome shop of yours you would just make it outta some bailing wire and old car parts. I bet like me, the thrill for you is watchin the kids tear thru that paper. I scored me some socks and underwear. Makes me feel like a new man. I look around and if the lights and heat are on then i'm doin good. I got my charcoal forge going and a piece of steel, now i'm gonna go out and make me some happy!

You have me figured out alright.
Christmas is definately for kids, kids of all ages, yah! I'll have to admit, I have more tools than most men will EVER need, but I LIKE TOOLS! Who can have enough vise grips? Who's shop wouldn't be better with just one more buffer, or drill press in it? I have been forging a lot of my old tools into these cable damascus billets, and I need to replace them now. Augers, files, saw blades,... Maybe I just need to go pawn shopping again, huh? Is that a reason, or an excuse? BTW the clothes I got are cool clothes, but no holes in them(yet) |
