Loose buck 110

I'm refurbishing and customized a vintage buck 100 for my grandfather in law for christmas. The lock is tight but it wiggles a bit left to right. When I hold the bolsters together just with my fingers its tight again. Is there anything I can do to get it tight again?

Yes, pein the pivot. Be sure to use a thin shim between the blade and bolster to set the spacing so that you don't pinch the blade and lock up the knife ....

Just reminded I'm still a newbie. Whats a shim? I was thinking one tap on each side until it was corrected.

Like the shims (feeler gauge) that you would use to set a spark plug gap only maybe 3 thousandths thick. Without that, you run the risk that the "tap on each side" will over correct and pinch the blade. So, tap and then pull the shim out ...

Just an update in case anyone else ever has this question. I peined the pivot pin. And by pein I mean let the weight of the peining hammer fall from an inch high about twice on each side. REALLY did not take much at all.
