Well, I would say your welcome... but unfortunately, and fortunately, I am still a newbie myself. In that case, welcome!

I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do. And boy are you right about learning a lot. The amount of knowledge here is staggering! One thing that I learned, don't try and compare your work to someone elses. Not everyone wants, needs, or likes the same kind of knives. Why do you think there are so many of us... The only thing that I do comparisons with would be the quality and fit and finish. We should all strive to make the best items we can make. Also not everyone learns at the same rate.

I'm sure these are all things you have heard before, but sometimes we just need to be reminded of them... We are all our own worst critic.

So, again... I hope you enjoy your stay here with us, and I think I can speak for everyone here, we all look forward to hearing more from you and possibly getting to see some of your work.

Hey Tom, sounds like we are neighbors.

Check this out OKG Ray Kirk helped this organazation get started. We have meetings at different shops through the year.

Look at his site and email Ray He'll get you on the mailing list for the newsletter.

This is the other Club I belong to Salt Fork Craftsmen

They have meetings once a month in three regions of the state. Blacksmiths and knifemakers hang out there. Great bunch of folks, you don't have to have any qualifications other than interest.
