Uncle Bills knife

Hey fellers, here's a knife I made for my wifes uncle Bill. He's 77 and can no longer hunt (but he still likes to think about it). Anyway my mother-in-law is going up North to see him in a couple of weeks and thought it would do him good to have one of my knives as he's been pretty sick and thought this would cheer him up.
It has a 4 1/2" blade of 1084 with a mustard etch, carved bolster, and canarywood scales. I also fileworked the spine a little, just to give it a better grip. Have a looksee and tell me what y'all think...Thanks,Bud

Nice lines, Bud. It flows real well from the handle into the into the bolster area. Personally, I'd clean up the blade as opposed to leaving the etch. To me, the etch gives the blade the appearance of having gotten wet and then rusted, and doesn't match that nice handle and bolster. But over all, it's a well proportioned and interestingly shaped knife. Would love to see it with the blade cleaned to compare.
