Sense of humor
Let's take this idea a step further. If God does have a sense of humor, then I wonder if He/She ever plays practical jokes on people? If I were God, this would be a lot of fun for me.

Dana,
I'm having fun too! However ... I contend that the following statement is absolutely and 100% inaccurate in accordance with the "Word of God". Quote:
I'll leave it up to you as to whether you should pay, or I ... --------------------------------- "Jesus was the fullfillment of the old covenant..." "Jesus (is) the fulfillment of the old covenant..." --------------------------------- Jesus Christ "did (not) die on the cross". Jesus Christ lives today! Without a clear understanding of the fundamental difference, "eternal salvation through the belief in Jesus Christ" could not be achieved! Many religions are similar in the aspect that their definition of "God" is "nothing greater of which can be conceived" is the same. However, the single example of Jesus Christ's domain over "death" itself, is the one prime factor which separates it from all others throughout history. Either you "believe" that Jesus conquered death itself, and left us with the formula, or you don't ... a literal interpretation of the events that are his example leads to zero "gray area" ... it's an "on" or "off" thing! I made the bet to drive the point home ... "casual misinterpretation" is the same as "direct misinterpretation", both are wrong ... and "the Word is Truth"! Jesus said he was "the way" ... that's what he meant ... about this point exactly. Follow him, because he did (not) die where (all others) have perished! What say ye? Haven't you ever wondered why all the major religions left out God's sense of humor?... God doesn't want us to know. It's funnier that way!

Tai, I think God has shown the ultimate humour or maybe irony when he sent the Messiah into the city on an ass!
The saviour didn't ride a charger or a war chariot but a hee haw. God is definetly NOT messin with our heads. We are messing with his Word. He doesn't change. He says hey if you go doin this then that is gonna happen. Pretty apparent when you compare stuff in the world with a little historical perspective and see what is happening today. God's spoken word becomes a natural law. ghostdog |

I love to talk about Jesus myself. I preach at the shows I attend, on the internet, ect...
I corrispond with Athiests around the world. I never try to convert anyone, because I know I can't. I can't save anyone, nor will I try. I love Jesus, simple as that. Not everyone agrees, and that is OK too. Fortunately I don't think God requires our belief in Him in order to exist. God would not be God if He required "anything from us" in order to be real. Each man, woman, and child, must decide for themselves what to believe, and what to ignore. I believe the Bible is the written word of God for man study and know better how he should live. You don't have to have the black and white words in order to believe. Your heart is where the decision is made.(not the mind) I believe that Jesus died, and rose again, seperating Him from the rest. I trust my "HOPE"that He will come for me one day. I don't care what "religeon" you are, where or how you believe or worship, each man has a relationship that is quite PERSONAL to himself alone concerning God. The bumper stickers we wear don't matter. What matters is that each of us opens our hearts to what the truth says to us. You might believe that God is everything, something, or nothing at all, the point is that God is just as real weather or not we all agree or disagree. Our beliefs don't change His being. I want to be careful here to not offend anyone, but God has a WONDERFUL sense of humor. Look at the relationships between man and woman. We gripe about the things we love the most. Jesus was the creator, yet his own creation did not recognize him. A king, born in a stable, who chose to ride a donkey, ect... A defender that would not even fight to protect himself. A ruler who came to serve, who's servants will one day rule. A perfect man who would obviously go to heaven himself, chose to die a criminals death, and go to hell to fight for our soles, rose from the grave on the third day, and freed us from the bonds of our own sins in order that we, an imperfect people, could be with him for eternity in Heaven.(the only man who left Hell) He hung out with sinners rather than the religeos folk. Rebuked the righteous, and had mercy on the lost. He told the elders that they must change and become like the children. It was the religeos folk that crucified him,(the son of God)while the sinners wept bitterly. No humor in the word? let's look at it again. I see the whole redemtive plan as ironic, Why would God want to spend eternity with sinners, and cast out the perfect people? Why would He waiste His time on ME of all people? I have been the worst of the worst. If I were perfect, I would have NO need for Jesus. Being a Christian does not mean that we become perfect, but rather , we need a savior because we stumble. Jesus lives in my heart, so I KNOW that I know that I know, he is real. I talk with him through the day, each day. That does not mean that you must believe the same. In fact, if we were ALL saved, there would be no need for Heaven or Hell. I am kinda glad for the seperation myself, both now and eternally. I don't mean to preach to anyone, just voicing my opinion. I'll be happy to discuss my beliefs with anyone, but don't think for a moment that "I" want to convert anyone because "I" can't. Only Jesus can change us, invite us, or even convict us. I have no plans to live in your hearts, show you miracles, or even proove the existance of God. That job belongs to someone else entirely. I love to share God's wonderful sense of humor with people who will hear, along with the peace He brings, and the hope we have because of Jesus. Thank you for the ear. Be blessed one and all. |

Jesus, (is) indeed the fullfillment of the covenant.
My mistake, Point taken. Thanks Alex. yes,I serve a risen saviour! I don't think God has been messin' with my head, I believe I do that one strictly on my own. __________________ NT Barkin Turtle Tribe ~~~Life is what it is~~~ |

Sometimes we can search too hard and miss out too.
I think your God is your inner peace, not a person so to speak. A part of you that you can not hide from, so relax! If you seek God, look inside your heart, that is where Jesus said God's kingdom would be. Now back to some knife talk. I love to forge at night, here in Texas. Full moon, 1/2 moon, or no moon. I don't care if you hawl at the moon. Keep thumping that steel. We are creators.(like my Father before me, hehe) |
