horizontal sheath

This is my idea so far. I have not made a sheat like this before, well truth be known I have only made 2 sheaths ever. So I thought I would post this before I cut any leather. If you see something wrong with this please tell me. I was thinking a snap close because I did not have a better idea, and figured it needed a snap as the sheath will not be upright. Thanks for looking. Sorry the photos are a little dark Cheers Ron

Just by way of suggestion....Why not play with the design a little more and eliminate the slot at the top on the welt side, and extend the length to where you have a max of about a two finger draw. This would make the snap strap unecessary as the knife would be very secure seated that deeply. Email me at pfl@cebridge.net with your email address and I'll send you some pictures showing what I'm talking about.

Paul

Mungo,
I would redesign it the way sheathmaker suggested...

8-9oz or 9-10oz would be what I would use

Goodluck!
