Moons and memories

Evening all. Have been a bit of a lurker lately -- I never manage to find the time to post nowadays. Never seem to be able to find the time to pound steel either, but I had to make an exception for this last full moon.

The last time I saw its like was four years ago almost to the day -- I drove straight through from Arkansas to Arizona. I spent my nights on a big rock out in Saguaro National Park, and in the mornings I drove in to Tucson where Tai managed to impart a little knowledge on a complete newbie. On those nights, the moon was so bright we couldn't sleep. My friend and I ended up hiking and exploring all night long, sans flashlights.

Seeing that same moon the other night sparked the memory, as well as a need to get out and create something useful.

So thanks, moon, for coming 'round. And thanks, Tai, for the memories.

Adam

Ps. It's still rough, and the first thing I have welded up and forged out in nigh on a year, but this is what came out of my full moon forging:

Stunningly beautiful. All I got from the last full moon was an interesting pic of the backyard.

Tough I bet!

Very nice work. And from my experience, probably very sharp and very tough too.

That's really impressive. It's hard to imagine what your work would be like if you hadn't been away from the forge for a year.

Thanks!

It felt good to make up with my mistress, the anvil. When my wife wraps up this degree in the spring I should have the time to renew the affair. Until then, the closest thing I have is a wooden anvil, a plastic hammer, play dough, and a two year old rapscallion.
