For having such a great first name, you sure knock out a great knife Robert! Was the maple about the color we're seeing on the screen except lighter? Good looking stuff!

Lighter...........It is amazing what a little leather dye can do. Maple burl is some pretty stuff on its own, however, we knifemakers just can't seem to leave things as we found them. We are constantly trying to "help" mother nature to make things "prettier"

Some of the greatest people I have ever known were named "Robert".......Let's see..... there was my dad, me, and of course, you. Surely there are a few others out there.

The other, and less world-renowned..... Robert

Hey Big-un....... Yea, I still have the day job, but I'm putting in my retirement papers in the next couple of weeks. 32+ years is enough. I plan on retiring the end of December.

Then I will go full-time ruining steel and doing "honey-doo's", at least until they cut off my gas, power, and the bank tells me that I don't live here any more.

I always figured they would tote me out feet-first at my job, but it just ain't fun anymore. Gonna let 'em have it and "whomp" some steel till I can't stand up. I have a long way to go to be as good as some of the folks that post here, but I'm having a ball trying to catch up.

Robert
