iron wood

Iron wood handle oal 10.25, blade 5.75 steel is the same old saw mill blade. I finally got the hang of hollow grinding. Red, white and blue spacers, brass bolster-gaurd. Look like I need a little more sanding on the rear of the handle... 8o . Thanks for the look. Anybody going to show in Winston-Salem 9/6,9/8?
God Bless.

John that looks wonderful!! You need to be proud of yourself.

The spacers are a good touch. Stay on them.

Pic is showing up nicely, too. You got it ALL together!

Good-looking knife John!
Don't you just love that desert ironwood? That's a sweet looking piece you got there. Is it as nice as I suspect, in person?

I'm in the homestretch now with a kitfolder that has ironwood scales. If you don't mind my asking, what did you use as a finish for the wood?

Way to go...

Keep up with the photography, it's getting good!!!

Dennis

THANKS EVERYONE, YA'LL ARE THE BEST!!
DENNIS, I GOT THE SCALES FROM POP'S KNIFE SUPPLY. IT WAS MY FIRST TIME WITH THE IRON WOOD AND MAN WAS I IMPRESSED, IT ALMOST LOOKED LIKE IT HAD GOLD IN IT, KIND OF A "TIGERS EYE" LOOK. I'LL BE USING ALOT MORE FOR SURE! ALL I DID ON FINISH WAS TO SAND DOWN TO 600 GRIT AND BUFF WITH GREEN ROUGE. NOTHING ELSE. SHOULD I PUT SOME SORT OF "FINISH" ON?
BYW HOW IS THE REST OF THE CARVING SET COMING? ANG THE NEW GRINDER?

THANKS AGAIN,

john costa
