Sorry I missed the chat room, but here's my latest knife.

I added red liners under the scales.

I still need to shape the scales more, but I'm really liking this one.

German Iron

Still new here so I hope I have the correct forum. I picked this up about a year ago. I have never seen a sharpening iron this small and I cant seem to locate any info on the iron via the web. the only markings are stamped into the base of the iron "Germany" on one side and "FAICK" on the other. Any info or links would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dan

Todays Work

Haven't tried to post any pics directly to Knife Net since my pics are so large. But, have a Dropbox account and some pics from today should link below. Couple pics of my mobile roll-out workshop, a pic of my logo, a pic of 3 KITH HT blades I ground out today hopefully to send to Ray to test very soon, and a couple Santoku copies I profiled today for the upcoming KITH kitchen knife.

Pic link below of my first completed knife and my first sheath, sheath finished yesterday.

3" skinner of my design, hand forged 5160, clay quenched and there is a hamon around the makers mark. 410 SS bolsters, SS Corby pins, SS lanyard tube, padauk scales with Tru-Oil finish.

Learned a lot about knifemaking on just this one. Bolsters are a pain, and in the future I want to keep this blade geometry but will modify the handle to have more of a belly, not as thin on the bottom. Comments welcome.

Got booted last night and something having to do with the java upgrade wouldn't let me in. I went to the java control panel and gave the website permission, but the chat isn't the host site. I later tried mirc but didn't know the server addy. Maybe next week I can work it out.

I couldn't get on last night either because of Java. I hope I can work out the problems this week. I would love some suggestions as I am a big computer dummy. Teddy
